ArenaNet is developing a new game. It's not really surprising that they are creating a new website associated with it.
Quote:
Currently, ArenaNet is busy developing Guild Wars 2 while continuing to support Guild Wars with additional content such as the upcoming Bonus Mission Pack, holiday events, community contests, monthly championships, and soon-to-be-released merchandise.
|
Another Bonus Mission Pack? Or is that a mistake/typo?

Another BMP. I'm not sure thats great news last one was kinda mah. Fun at first but kinda meh. At least it was free (sorta). Not sure what another would be focused on they hit the three influential people in the three campaigns "history."

There was an internal mis-communication with our Recruiting Coordinator. At this time we are not planning on creating another Bonus Mission Pack. The advertisement will be changed to reflect this.
If you know anyone who has the skills in the job description and is local, please have them apply. :-)
Also, we are hiring for a number of different jobs as well: http://www.plaync.com/us/jobs/jobs_arenanet.php

Hehe, this is guru. The rumor mill is always running. Just wait 5 minutes. At least most of them are pretty minor compared to a 'new BMP'.

As we can see, this is the kind of things a CR has to do, polish the information given to the community. Make sure they get the information they have to get, and NOT babysitt the community, like some people like to think.
"Oh Gaile did it, so Regina has to do it too" Bah!
Its noone's job to babysitt the community, if any of the staff does it, it does it on its own free will, and that is NOT called managing the community.
Too bad we arent getting a new BMP... was looking foward for some wild action like Togo's story.
Hey Regina, if A.Net is hiering alpha testers for Gw2, let me know so that i can apply! ;-]
You just have to feed me, give water and give me a bed hehe

Why wouldn't they put job opportunities for website maintenance up on craigslist? It doesn't require intimate knowledge of the games or the company itself, just the ability to structure an HTML network. all the details are handed to the web development team and they organize it.
that said, someone with this experience isn't likely to be searching the main sites of these companies for these jobs. They might not even know they exist. So, putting it on a common job search site gets their message out to many more qualified individuals.
